This is life

Moved

Drove all night long until we reached the beautiful California sun and palm trees.

Installing security systems: Spencer

Working late nights, and I mean really late nights

Soaking up the small amount of time we have together as a family

Making some great friendships

Enjoying trips to the beach,

Lounging by the pool

Taking walks in this great warm weather.

Noticed that I didn’t own one pair of shorts not even one

Chopped off the bottom half of most of my pants

Spending almost every nap-time building/sanding/staining and packaging chalkboard frames

Cleaning up sawdust all day, everyday

Recognizing a dream I never knew I had: having my own business

Reading the same stories over and over

Building fans, helicopters, monsters, and cars out of Mega Blocks

Learning a new toddler language, Blake is my teacher

Walking around the apartment complex multiple times daily to look at every A/C Unit “vah-vah”

Wondering if I measure up as his mother

Realizing in just about one month my baby boy will be 2 years old

Wanting to cry because of that fact

Wishing babies didn’t grow up so fast

Learning to balance everyday tasks

Failing most days

Dreaming about life in the future

Loving life just the way it is now.

Yes. Yes. We are Moving Again

Well I guess that it is probably time that I announce that we are moving! Yes we're moving again, and yes we are moving in 3 days! I am up to my neck in boxes and suitcases, cleaning and sorting! I am beginning to think that all we do is move!! I know that I said we wouldn't be moving for a while, that we were going to be settling down in Rexburg for the next 2 years or so, but life sure has a funny way of mixing things up and messing with your plans! The nostalgia was kicking in a little bit, I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing always getting so attached to the places that we live! But after a few days full of packing I am ready to be DONE! At the end of the month we will be moving in with some [very gracious] friends to finish up the last 10 days of the semester. Then we will be moving to Southern California to instal security systems for the summer. Although this little adventure wasn't what we were planning, we feel that this is the right thing for our family at this time and we are soooo excited for some sunshine and fun... oh and work too!

Yesterday

Was busy.
Fulfilling orders for the shop, running errands, cleaning the house, playing outside, driving to Idaho Falls for wood, and all of the other wonderful things that fill my day-to-day. But one of the tiny memories that stuck in my mind in the midst of all the chaos was Blake's little hand waving at me and blowing kisses in the rear view mirror. What a sweet boy I have!

Also.... this has been happening:

More on that soon!

Game Night

The other night we decided to have a date night in our apartment after Blake was in bed. We had a lot of fun playing board games, and eating Teddy Grahams. Our favorite game of the night had to be Battleship! Spencer was one "hit" away from winning for the longest time, and then out of nowhere, I came out with a win! What a fun night! Please excuse our extremely attractive faces!

Ward Olympics

We had so much fun a few weeks ago at our ward activity! We have really come to love our new ward! The activity theme was The Olympics and it was so cute! I competed in the bean bag toss event, Spencer competed in the basketball event, and Blake competed in the toddler basketball event! Blake was the only one to bring home a medal for our family, but he was pretty excited about it!

Snapshot

Have I ever said just how much I love being a mother? Because I really really do. Even though it is totally cliche motherhood really is the hardest and most rewarding thing that I have ever experienced. There is nothing like it. The moments of worry that I am not the mother that my son deserves are overshadowed by the moments joy that come from watching him learn something new, listening to him laugh and receiving little kisses. One of the hardest parts for me is how quickly little moments pass by and become forgotten. Sometimes the thought of Blake growing any bigger, knocks the wind out of me and makes me want to squeeze him in even closer.
And so in honor of these feelings I am listing every possible thing that comes to mind about my sweet little boy, and the little person that he is TODAY. So here is my mental snapshot of my 19 month old growing boy.

When ever Blake sees a clock, or anything that resembles a clock you can be sure that a tick tock clicking sound will be coming from his mouth, along with pointing and very exciting facial expressions!

Blake will rock his little stuffed animals and sing them little songs that sound more like La-a-a-a-a-a-ah A-a-a-a-a-ah Ma-a-a-ah in the sweetest little voice humanly possible.

He absolutely adores Mickey Mouse, or in his own words; "Mi-Mi-Mo" He also likes to dance to the hot dog dance on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

He prefers to sleep while he's snuggling with me on the couch.

He is a lover of yogurt.

His favorite part of his night time routine is when daddy plays and sings "baby beluga" on the ukulele, he sways his head, and when it is over he smiles and says, "Ni-Ni"

He uses the dishwasher to climb up on the counters and make messes

He likes to use his little vacuum while I vacuum.

Loves loves loves his light-up snow boots. He will put them on periodically throughout the day and ask to go outside and "pay"

When he wants me to do something he will say "Momma" and look at me intently while patting on the chair next to him.

When he waves good bye, he usually uses both hands and his whole body waves too, while he drags out the words, "baaahh byyyye" (also a little shaky from the waving)

He loves to grab you by the finger or elbow, and pull you until you follow him into the other room to play. Another way he expresses what he would like you to do is by acting like a mime. Pulling and pulling an invisible rope (that is obviously connected to you) towards the the place where he would like to go. When he is feeling particularly ambitious in his act he falls over. We have also seen him use "the force" to ask for a toy across the room.

He jumps and dances all the time. So. Much. Energy. Seriously, he runs and spins and dances and jumps and does squats all day long!

He has discovered the letter B, and since that is the letter for Blake and for Brady there are a lot of B's around this home, and he likes to point them out.

When ever he hears me refer to myself as mommy, he repeats it as "Monny"

When he is thirsty he makes gulping sounds.

and he loves to jump on the bed!

I love you sweet little Blake, thank you for walking into my room just now and climbing into my arms to finish your nap, you make my heart explode.

In a good way of course!

Introducing...

We are so excited to announce our new Etsy Shop, Brady Crafts and Design!

If you're wondering what in the world made us decide to take this on, here is the story.

It all started this last Christmas, I was really interested in chalkboard frames, and I had also been designing prints on my computer for a while and I thought that it was so much fun. As Christmas approached I was in need of a frame for a large picture I was giving to my mom, I decided to take the leap and make a frame from scratch! And this was where this shop was born! As my dad helped me figure out the process I became hooked and made another frame for my Mother-in-law’s gift! I filled her frame with a chalkboard printable that I had designed with a quote just for her. Since then Spencer and I have been designing chalkboard frames and getting ready to open up this shop!

I also wanted to let you all know that since this is the opening week for our shop [yay!] we are offering a 10% coupon for any reader who purchases before the 14th of this month! Use code: THANKYOUFRIENDS at checkout!

Here are a few of the Frames listed on our shop, but make sure to checkout the actual shop here, or click on the link in my side bar that says Etsy ShopThanks for checking out our shop! We hope you like what you see!

Oh the JOY

...of having a toddler!
And I'm not saying that with any sarcasm,
I truly do love having a little buddy by my side all day!
He is a sweet heart and I am sooo thankful everyday that he is mine.

He is always busy, exploring and turning everything upside down!

 He loves playing basketball!

and with his little "mi-mi" (Mickey-Mouse)

He always wants to take his "ba-pa" (backpack) every where we go!

and thanks to him our apartment usually looks like this...

 Packaging becomes a great toy!

and he always figures out a way to get his dinner into his water cup.

He loves to sing with his daddy before bed

 Taking naps in random places,

and most importantly he always knows how to steel my heart with his kisses

He had a doctor check-up yesterday and he is as healthy as can be!
Up in the 95th percentile for his height!
and he has been extra cuddly because of those darn shots!
I've been soaking up my extra cuddly toddler, thats for sure!
Love him!
